    Marcy Hartleip
    Quota International of Waterloo, IA

Waterloo Quotarians are proud of member Marcy Hartleip, who chose a career as a reading specialist and consultant for teachers to help children with special needs. Marcy became a Quota member in 1989 and served as club president in 1997 and 2004.

Her contributions to Quota demonstrate strength of commitment to service. In all her committee work her energy and organizational skills have been notable. As co-chairperson of the club's 2006 Ways and Means Committee, Marcy improved the techniques for Fall Nut Sales in bagging, distributing, and record keeping. Members were motivated to sell many nuts, and 2006 results were the best ever. Again, for Spring Brunch 2006, Marcy led her helpers to a spectacular baked goods presentation promoting the brunch and helping it become another record fund-raiser.

Following a report from the Central Area meeting in Cleveland, 2005, Marcy became energized to attack hearing loss. Through her leadership, Waterloo Quota is distributing 8,000 ear plugs and information on hearing loss throughout our city.

Marcy does it all! Being Friendship chairperson and taking an active role in Growth and Development helps Marcy as the editor of the Quota Flash newsletter. She organizes all stories and features new members, schedules, projects, and member achievements.

Waterloo Quota celebrates its 80th birthday in June, 2006. Marcy agreed to lead a committee in charge of a Quota Float, and members will have the opportunity to show off our service organization in June's "My Waterloo Days" grand parade! She'll be featured right up front as our club's Volunteer of the Year. Thanks, Marcy!
