Mary-Ellen
Jamroz The Springfield Quota Club is proud to name Mary-Ellen Jamroz their Volunteer of the Year. A member since 1997, Mary-Ellen has served on several club committees including the Friendship, Pancake Breakfast, Harvest Supper, Tag Sale, and Steak Roast committees. She has been dedicated to service since she was a teenager working with
infants and young children at Our Lady of Providence Home for Children.
While her children were in school, she volunteered in the school library
and for Girl Scouts. She has also recently helped at the Community Survival
Center bagging food for the elderly and has been a bell ringer for the
Salvation Army during the holidays. Mary-Ellen cares for children. She is one of twelve out of six hundred volunteers in the Springfield School System nominated for the "Unsung Hero Award" for her work with the school's Kids Voting, Read Aloud, Early Readers, and Friendly programs. She has sponsored an 11-year-old boy in Guatemala for the past six years. And she has served on various church and Polish American committees promoting scholarship. Mary-Ellen Jamroz exemplifies the phrase "ask a busy woman."
She always gets the job done with a gentle voice and kind smile. Springfield
Quotarians are honored to nominate her as Volunteer of the Year. To return to the 2006 Volunteers of the Year main page, click here.
