    Ilse Mitchell
    Quota International of Ottawa, ONT

Ilse Mitchell has been with the Quota Club of Ottawa for 32 years! Her love and dedication are apparent through her meaningful contributions, advice, and continued help. Ilse never misses an opportunity to sing the praises of Quota and its services.

During these 32 years of membership, Ilse has been the governor of District 18 and the Canada Area director. Ilse was installed as international president for 1993 to 1994 in Singapore. Her theme was "Globally United in Service." She strongly believed that the internationalism of Quota would set it apart from other organizations. She traveled extensively to help bridge the cultural and national differences that existed in Quota. Her friendships with Quota members worldwide have helped maintain strong Quota connections. She was actively involved in the chartering of clubs in the Philippines, New South Wales, and Malaysia.

Ilse is also a successful business woman with her own fashion house. However, she always finds time to assist in the club's fund-raisers and service programs. She was a member of the Ottawa Board of Trade, the Ottawa Tourist and Convention Bureau, and the Ottawa Business Women's Network. When the Club needs an auction or raffle item, Ilse will always give generously. More than that, she sometimes makes donations anonymously. She is an avid supporter of Child Find and CARE. She also supports a Tsunami Relief Program that was founded by her son in Thailand.

Ilse shares generously, values friendship, and unequivocally understands the meaning of service. Considering all that she has done and still continues to do, she is a true Quotarian, and deserves to be called Volunteer of the Year.
