Gaye
Steemson Rogers Gaye Steemson Rogers was elected treasurer of the newly chartered Quota
Club of Bundaberg 17 years ago and has been a tireless worker for the
club ever since. She has also held the positions of club secretary, board
member, and publicity director. As a director of Sunshine Coast Rescue Helicopter Service, she travels many kilometers for meetings. While a member of Bundaberg Friendship Force, she offered the hand of friendship by hosting members from visiting clubs. And for longer than her membership in Quota, Gaye has been a member of the Leukemia Foundation and held positions of president, vice president, secretary, and treasurer, working exceptionally hard for this organization. The true spirit of volunteerism has been shared with Gaye by her husband, Peter, and they work together fund-raising for the Leukemia Foundation and the Lions Club. Their seven-year-old son, Timothy, helps his mother at many of our Quota functions. During the last few years, Gaye and Peter have fostered many children from ten months to eleven years of age and cared for them in a loving family environment. Gaye is also a member of Foster Carer's Support Group. Gaye was born in Bundaberg, attended Kepnock State High School, and then studied accountancy. She is now a Chartered Accountant, JP, and financial advisor and has established her own accountancy business, where she does free printing for our Quota club. Gaye is a dedicated and valued Quotarian, always ready to assist those
in need and offer her friendship. Volunteering is the essence of her life.
QI of Bundaberg is proud to nominate Gaye Steemson Rogers as its 2006
Volunteer of the Year. To return to the 2006 Volunteers of the Year main page, click here.
