Jeanette
Holland Jeanette Holland has been an active member of Quota International of
Taree for over 30 years. She has served in all board positions, including
the office of president four times, and she is a past district governor.
Passionate about Quota and community service, Jeanette is involved in
many community organizations. She has held various positions over many
years, such as those in the National Anglican Women of Australia, Girl
Guides, Meals on Wheels, and Taree Lipreading Association (now run by
Better Hearing). She is currently organizing the Dame Joan Sutherland
Luncheon Musicale, where she represents her club as director of Community
Involvement. This is part of the Taree City Festival, an annual event
involving a two-week program. Jeanette also serves on the Australia Day
Committee. The chief organizer of the Taree club's Bridal Spectacular
since its inception, Jeanette is responsible for the huge fund-raiser,
which is an annual event now in its twelfth year. During 2003, Jeanette
was very involved in her club's successful, ongoing "Butterfly"
campaignbutterfly brooches are for sale and also butterfly correspondence
cards, which are designed locally by school children. During Quota Cares
Month, she organized a highly successful picnic for all of the deaf and
hearing-impaired members of our community. Jeanette's ongoing involvement
in so many community activities combined with her passion for Quota helped
raise community awareness. Her club describes Jeanette as "embodying
the true meaning of volunteering," and they proudly acknowledge her
as their Volunteer of the Year. To return to the 2004 Volunteers of the Year main page, click here.
