    Cathy Morris
    Quota International of Monroe, LA

Cathy Morris has been a devoted Quotarian for 10 years and has served the Monroe club in numerous capacities. She divides her volunteer time between Quota, her church, and the local Ronald McDonald House. She is an example of a busy businesswoman who can be depended upon to get another job done. Cathy has served Quota International of Monroe as secretary for two terms, board member for numerous years, vice president for two years, and president for two consecutive terms. During her tenure, Monroe celebrated its Fiftieth Anniversary in Quota International. She has co-chaired the annual Woman of the Year program, recognizing the outstanding contributions of local women in our community. She has chaired the Ways and Means Committee and organized successful silent auctions for several fund-raising events. She sponsored and supervised the construction of a playhouse for the award-winning Kids' Expo, which netted over $2,500 in raffle money. She also initiated club participation in the American Cancer Society's Walk and fund-raiser. Cathy served District 21 as lieutenant governor and governor. She worked at the most recent district conference on the District Standing Rules Committee and as chair of the Past Governors Committee. Other committees on which Cathy has served include Audit/Budget, Elections, Courtesy Resolutions, Green Growth, Membership and Development, and Memorials. During the last international convention in New Orleans, Cathy accepted responsibility for organizing and displaying Silent Auction items for District 21 prior to the Opening Ceremonies. The Monroe chapter of the Ronald McDonald House is Cathy's second area of community involvement. She has been a board member for nine years and currently serves as treasurer. She assisted with a recent house-wide renovation project. Her fund-raising talents have been useful as committee chair for the Mini-Grand Prix events, and she annually helps with the Big Bass Fishing Tournament that raises over $70,000. Cathy is active in her church: through her talents with vocal music, organizing her church's first Women's Ministry, and teaching youth and children. Cathy is married to Tom Morris, and they have three children and one grandson. As a devoted parent, Cathy served as PTA president for numerous years and was involved in many school activities and organizations. Cathy Morris is a committed volunteer to the community, and Quota International of Monroe acknowledges her as Volunteer of the Year.
