A retired registered nurse, Laura Marsh has been a volunteer with the American Red Cross Disaster Health Services for 13 years. She has responded to numerous catastrophic disasters around the nation, including the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. In this regard, she worked twelve-hour days for 28 days, rendering first aid and helping residents near Ground Zero and families of people hospitalized, missing, or killed. Her heroic efforts were recognized by several public and private organizations. In addition, Laura has given countless hours of her time and expertise as treasurer of her Quota club, overseeing fund-raising efforts and being actively involved in youth outreach and other club projects. She is an outstanding example of how one person can make a difference in raising the quality of life for many people.
