Joan
Witt Joan Witt, president of Quota International of East Liverpool,
is an avid local historian and prolific writer. She is vice president and
program chairman of the East Liverpool Historical Society and a member of
numerous organizations, including DAR (for 22 years) and the Business and
Professional Women's Club (for 40 years). Joan has taught local history classes
and genealogy classes; researched and written articles of historical and local
interest; and presented programs on local history for many organizations and
schools, among other things. As a volunteer, she works at the City Hospital;
tutors in the "HOSTS" program at a local school; serves as a tour
guide at the Historical Society's Thompson House; and answers numerous requests
concerning local history. She is the recipient of numerous awards and commendations,
including "Honorary Native" of the city for being the local historian
and the Civic Service Award from the Jaycees for community service. |
