    Barbara Filippi Nunes
    Quota International of Cupertino, CA

Barbara Nunes thought that after 36 years of a successful and satisfying career in Education, most recently as principal of Cupertino High School, she would retire and enjoy life with her friends and cats. Well, things didn't turn out that way, but Barbara is not complaining! Throughout her Quota "career" Barbara has held the office of secretary, treasurer, vice president, president and most recently, Ways and Means chair. Perhaps Barbara's greatest success this year was the Salute to Staff program, which turned a bland Secretary's Day into a hands-on project that was fun and upbeat for all. When Barbara isn't serving Quota, she can be found on the Board of Directors of Our Lady of Fatima, serving on the Finance, Capital Campaign, and Public Relations Committee. She volunteers for the Western Association of Schools and Colleges to aid schools in their accreditation process. She has worked as a field work supervisor for a unique program at San Jose State University preparing teachers to become effective administrators. Most recently, she has joined the county's newly formed Neighborhood Intervention Board, assisting juvenile offenders in completing community service projects. Clearly, Barbara's successful educational career path was just the beginning of her work! Her time, talent, and devotion to her many endeavors make her a true volunteer. According to a fellow club member, "she is there for all of us, our club and our community, and she does it with class."
