    Marlene Slavin
    Quota International of Cambridge, MD

According to her fellow Quotarians, Marlene Slavin brings to life the motto of Past International President Lynne Caroon, Quota Spirit—Pass it On. Her Quota spirit comes to life in many ways. Through her participation as chairperson of the third annual Derby Days, she not only used her superb organizational skills to coordinate the details, but she also used her marketing background to implement a publicity plan resulting in the best attended event ever. Her enthusiasm is contagious. In her role as the club's publicity chairperson, she challenged her club to reach the goal of creating more public awareness about Quota and its Mission. Through an ongoing public awareness campaign, the club is no longer the "best kept secret" in Cambridge. Marlene and her committee members developed the first Quota International of Cambridge brochure, which is now used to explain the mission of Quota and its history. Whether Marlene is organizing an event, producing a brochure, or developing a new marketing initiative, the results are always the same—enlightening the community about Quota spirit and encouraging others to accept the challenge to improve the lives of others through volunteerism.
