    Julia Taber
    Quota International of Alameda-Oakland, CA


    Julia Taber is a person who has demonstrated exceptional continuity in volunteering within the community of Oakland, California, for many years. During her sons' school years, she was a duty supervisor in the schoolyard, den mother for Cub, Boy, and Explorer Scouts, and active in the PTA, for which she was awarded life membership. Additionally, Julia has served as church secretary for the past five years. She has shown great longevity in volunteering for two organizations: BPW (25 years) and Quota International of Oakland (27 years). The mayor of Oakland appointed Julia to the board of directors of the Paramount Theater of Oakland, in which she has served in several capacities during the past 29 years and is currently treasurer. Julia has also served two terms on the Oakland Off-Street Parking Commission. Her most recent volunteer activity is in the gift shop of the Alta Bates Hospital in Berkeley, California, where she has earned more that 1,000 hours of service to date.
