Mary
Ann McNamara Mary Ann McNamara was born into a farming community near Mazenrod,
Saskatchewan, where she developed a spirit of community and volunteering.
Early on, Mary Ann was known for her skill at "water witching,"
the ability to find much-needed underground spring water, and she readily
shared this service with others in her community. As an adult, Mary Ann has
had a 45-year nursing career at the former Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital,
and, in 2000, was awarded an Ontario Volunteer Service Award for 10 years
continuous service as an active member of the Volunteer Association at the
Hamilton Psychiatric Hospital. Her involvement has included leadership positions
of president and director of the board, yearly participation in Christmas
shopping for patients, and support of the hospital museum. Mary Ann joined
the Hamilton quota Club in 1988 and has participated in all of the club's
service work and fund-raising activities, as well as serving as president
and vice president. Mary Ann is active in the Catholic Women's League at her
parish and is a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. |
