Nita
Higgins Nita Higgins is a 50-year active member of Quota International.
She joined Quota on May 15, 1952, as a member of the Katoomba Club and,
in 1984, transferred to the Quota Club of Ryde. Whether serving on club
projects, in an executive position, or as a district officer, Nita's volunteer
spirit knew no bounds. Her achievements are many. Nita worked hard to
establish the Charter of the Quota Club of Adelaide, South Australia,
thus establishing Quota in yet another Australian state. Her start-up
experience served her well and she was instrumental in the formation of
the Liverpool Club in 1964 and used her experience to assist in the formation
of the Blacktown, North Shore, and Ryde clubs in 1965. She is known as
a "convention pioneer," attending her first of many International
conventions in 1969, a time when few Australians were able to travel to
convention. She served in all executive positions within her club and
served as a district officer for five years, including two years as governor
of the 13th District. In all of her Quota endeavors, Nita truly demonstrates
the Quota spirit of caring and compassion, fellowship and fun. |
