a fence to promote breast cancer awareness. Generated publicity all over
Australia."
QI of Bakersfield, California, U.S.A.
"In October, members begin to make fleece blankets for children in
the CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) Program. These are abused
or neglected children who have been removed from their homes. They leave
with nothing more than the clothes on their backs. Most of us do not knit
or crochet, but we can all use scissors. We buy colorful, "kid"
print fleece and cut it into 4 by 5 inch squares, fringe it, then roll
it up with a small stuffed animal inside, tied up with the salvage. It
really helps with club fellowship, as everyone really enjoys doing the
hands-on part of it and the joy it brings to the children."
QI of Bismarck-Mandan, North Dakota, U.S.A.
"Donated heart pillows to breast cancer survivors. The pillows are
meant to be used under a seatbelt."
