Jean Tregurtha
District 24 Secretary/Treasurer

Jean Tregurtha is being honored by District 24 for her long history of commitment to volunteer service, both in her Quota club of Glen Innes, to District 24 as current secretary/treasurer, and at conferences, South Pacific Area meetings, and conventions. In 1999, Jean became a Paul Harris Fellow, the highest award any Rotarian can receive—yet she is a member of Inner Wheel, not Rotary! It is an achievement as outstanding as is her service. After serving Quota for seven years, she was awarded the Beatrix Fairfax Memorial Trophy in 2000. Jean's list of service includes inaugural member and recent president of the Glen Innes Inner Wheel Club, Scientific Officer for the State Emergency Service, assistant treasurer of the Australian Standing Stones Management Board, and treasurer of the Glen Innes Community Centre. As busy as she may be, she and her husband John have financially supported three families through Foster Parents Plan and regularly subscribe to the East Africa Fund and Legacy in Australia.
