    Shirley Strickland
    Quota International of Geelong, VIC

Volunteering came naturally to Shirley Strickland—at age 8 she organized a produce stall in Queenscliff to do her part in the war effort. Ever since, she has been doing what she can to make a positive difference in her community. In the Quota world, Shirley has held numerous positions, including board member for fifteen years, lieutenant governor, district governor, and club president. Her enthusiasm and hard work have always made a difference in club fundraisers. Just as active in the community as she is in Quota, Shirley has spent many years coaching children's sports and organizing and volunteering at community events. As secretary of the Geelong Combined Services Club, she helped organize the TTY Scheme, where twenty TTY machines were supplied to ambulances, Geelong hospital, and for use by the hearing-impaired public. The program is the only non-government-funded scheme in the world. Shirley is a highly valued member of Quota and the Geelong community.
