No one could have more of an active retirement then Elizabeth Fisher. Soon after coming to Forster/Tuncurry she joined Quota and began serving the local community. Just six months after joining she was elected secretary, and the following year, president! She has always given her time and her best to Quota, no matter what the cause. Elizabeth came to express a concern about the lack of respite care facilities in town. Grouping with similarly concerned citizens, Elizabeth was able to realize her goal—a cottage hospice. Originally staffed by a registered nurse, the cottage has since become part of the Community Private Hospital and offers in-patient care. Elizabeth proved that hard work, persistence, and teamwork is all you need to achieve success.
