    Barbara Edney (center)
    Quota International of Campbelltown, NSW

Volunteering is nothing new to Barbara Edney. As a teenager she visited a local school and hospital for young people who were physically disabled. Not only was she a friend to these people, but she became involved in fund-raising activities to help make their lives a little better. Twenty years ago Barbara followed in her mother's footsteps and joined Quota. Since then she has served as club president, a board member and committee chair, as well as holding a number of responsibilities within District 35. Barbara recently took advantage of the Sydney Olympics to volunteer and act as a team leader for the equestrian events, assuring all visitors and spectators had a safe, enjoyable time. As a follow-up, she volunteered for the Para-Olympic games, acting as a visitors guide to the tennis events. Barbara is truly a volunteer of Olympic proportion.
