    The Thermal Imaging Camera (TIC)

The Thermal Imaging Camera is a valuable, life saving tool that is being utilized by many firefighting professionals around the world. An array of solid-state electronics inside the camera includes digital image-processing circuitry, which produces clear images in dark, harsh environments. These cameras read body temperatures, creating an image on the screen that allows firefighters to pinpoint a victim's location.

Several manufacturers make TICs in a price range from about $18,000 to $25,000. According to Firehouse magazine, these high-tech devices have been credited with saving at least a dozen lives over the past two years. For more information follow these Related Thermal-Imaging Links.
