    Iosco County Supports Shelter

The Iosco County Quota club in Michigan, U.S.A., created a room in a women's shelter to honor a local woman battered to death by her husband. The shelter's phone number was found in her shoe.

Molly's Room is the gathering space where group meetings and counseling sessions take place at the Oscoda, Michigan, shelter. Quota members painted and stenciled the room, added new curtains, and donated furniture and decorations. The group also solicited donations from area businesses to complete the room and held a white elephant auction that raised enough funds to purchase an additional couch. In the doorway, the club placed a plaque that reads:

    "We Share"
    This room furnished by the
    Quota Club of Iosco County

"The room we created is a warm and cozy area to relax in," notes club member Patt Ignaczak. "We are proud of this."
