The Story Behind the Photo: District 37 Quota Club Raises Over $10,000 for Hearing House

Quotarians in Papakura, New Zealand, have a winning recipe for service success with their annual Antique Fair. While ticket sales and raffles account for most of the event's profits, club members have developed a foolproof recipe for luring customers away from antique stands to the kitchen—they bake on site. The scent of scones in the oven keeps profits rising for Quota service to deaf and hearing-impaired children throughout the country.

Antique Fair Committee Members Kathleen Drummond, Carol Shearer, and Pam Ross, pictured here, are preparing signs for the club's 2002 fair. The smiles on their faces are proof that a great service project can enhance a club's fellowship and bond members together! And in the process of serving together, the club raised over $10,000 to help the Hearing House in Auckland, New Zealand. For more information on the club's winning fund-raising event, click here.
