A Night to Remember in Takapuna

The Takapuna Quota club in New Zealand cooked up new ways to make a difference for local residents.

Family members and friends of day care patients at North Shore Hospice enjoy a steady supply of tasty home-baked comfort food delivered to the facility by Takapuna Quota members. In addition, they benefit from the club's generous donations of funds to the hospice center, totaling more than N.Z.$33,000 to date.

The club recently raised $700 with "A Night to Remember," a series of home-cooked meals served in members' homes. Friends and relations paid $20-40 per seat to have lunch with Club President Jill Watts or dinner with Dot Langdon or Past District Governor Jacque Kendall—and all of the profits benefited hospice.
