Huntington Quota Club Carries Weight The Quota club of Huntington, West Virginia, U.S.A., deals in weighty matters. Located in a state famous for its glassworks, the club commissioned the design and production of a unique Quota paperweight in glass to use for club gifts and awards and to sell as a fund-raiser. Club member Marty Blenko's husband, Richard, is president of The Blenko Glass Company (www.blenkoglass.com) in nearby Milton, West Virginia. Blenko Glass supplies presidents, movie stars, astronauts, and many major international architectural installations with glass art. Richard is the fourth generation Blenko to preside over the 108-year-old company. He generously donated his company's time and talents to create a paperweight for Quota with a "Q" sandblasted in the center and hand-painted blue. Quota International President Lynne Caroon received one of the paperweights during her visit to the First District Conference in September 2001. Past District Governor Susan Pietrantozzi presented the gift. The beautifully crafted collectible is selling steadily. Only 75 paperweights were produced, and over half have been sold.
