    Giving to Girls in Tacoma

A group of disadvantaged girls will enjoy a gift of Quota caring this Christmas, thanks to the creative efforts of the Tacoma Quota club in Washington, U.S.A.

Union Street Home in Tacoma serves teenaged girls with emotional problems. "Their parents were abusive towards them, kicked them out of the house or were living on the street. They have nowhere else to go," explains Tacoma Quota member Lauri Overman, who serves as club community service co-chair with Jana Marcelia.

Quota's Past International President Beverly Marcelia serves on the board of Faith Homes, Inc., which runs the Union Street facility. The Tacoma club served Christmas dinner for girls in Faith Homes in 2000, and now focuses efforts on Union Street because that home generally receives less community support than others in the Puget Sound area.
