Cops ‘N’ Kids Program Wins National Award in U.S.A.

We Share Foundation Improves, Expands Club-to-Club World Service Program

Cops ‘N’ Kids Program Wins National Award in U.S.A.

Police in Kenosha-Racine, Wisconsin, distribute books collected and donated by members of that community's Quota club.

The We Share Foundation's Cops 'n' Kids Reading Program received an Award of Excellence in the 2007 Associations Advance America (AAA) Awards, a national competition sponsored by the American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center for Association Leadership in Washington, D.C. The foundation was one of only 13 programs (nationwide) to achieve this acclaim.

The AAA Awards program recognizes associations that "propel America forward" with innovative projects in education, business, skills training, citizenship, and community service. Awards Chair Charles McGrath said, "Quota International's Cops 'n' Kids program truly embodies the spirit of our campaign. It is an honor and an inspiration to showcase this activity."

The We Share Foundation's program was launched as a result of the successful program Quota members in Kenosha-Racine, Wisconsin, U.S.A., started in 1997.

We Share Foundation Improves, Expands Club-to-Club World Service Program

Quota's Club-to-Club World Service Program has received some important improvements designed to expand the impact of the projects and increase the time spent on performing service.

The most significant change extends the program from one to two years, reducing paperwork for clubs with projects. The two-year program will also help Quota decision-makers do their jobs, as it corresponds with the two-year World Service Committee term. The 13 Club-to-Club Projects originally approved for the 2007 calendar year were grandfathered into the new two-year program, which began May 1, 2007. These projects will expire on April 30, 2009.

The second change to the program was the approval of two additional projects for operation during the 2007-2009 program—projects sponsored by QI of Mandaue, in the Philippines, and QI of Suriname, in South America. We are now helping a record 15 communities in developing countries through our Club-to-Club Program. To read more about all current 2007-2009 Club-to-Club projects, click here.

The third change to the program is the on-line publication of summarized annual reports from our Club-to-Club projects. To read annual reports from 2006 World Service projects and learn more about what they accomplished with your generous donations, click here.

We are very excited about these program improvements and expect them to bring more donations and more service to Quota projects in developing countries.
