Well-Spent:
"You cannot imagine how much it means to know that people around the world care about what is happening to us here Being a Quotarian means more than ever at times like these, because I know the hearts of our members and the warmth of their caring and just knowing they are there is very comforting. I believe the Quota Collect says it all." Tamara Morrison, QI of Mississippi Gulf Coast Within days of Hurricane Katrina's landfall, the We Share Foundation set up a relief fund to offer financial support to District 21-sponsored projects. Quotarians worldwide responded just as quickly; by September 12, donations from individuals, clubs, districts, and areas were flooding our office. This generosity extended through March, bringing total hurricane relief donations to U.S.$48,358. The clubs in District 21 quickly rose from the aftermath of the hurricanes, initiating and supporting efforts to meet the immediate needs of storm victims and rebuilding the communities that had been destroyed. Clubs in Bossier City, Jackson, Mississippi Gulf Coast, Ruston, Shreveport, and Southeast Texas applied for the We Share Foundation's Hurricane Relief Funds and were awarded grants to support their projects.
