Longtime Quota Friends Reunite in Wisconsin Club

Before moving to Racine, Sister Janet Weyker (standing, left), president of the Kenosha-Racine Quota club, lived in Platteville, Wisconsin, U.S.A., and belonged to the Quota club there. During 18 years of membership in Platteville, Sister Janet—then campus minister at St. Augustine University—served two terms as club president as well as secretary, board member, and chair of various committees.

She also became friends with Judy Walthers (standing, right), a Platteville Quotarian. Judy moved away from Platteville and later relocated to Racine. When Sister Janet moved to Racine, the two former Quota members rekindled their friendship and decided to attend a meeting of the Kenosha-Racine Quota club.

"To make a long story short," explains Sister Janet, "we joined the club. Judy was elected president, and she did a tremendous job of strengthening the club during her two years of leadership. Now I'm trying to fill her shoes!"

Sister Janet is a Racine Dominican sister who does public relations and artwork for her religious community's retreat department.
