Right: Hear Ye, the Quota dog After standing guard all summer on Main Street in Racine, Hear Ye went to auction in October 2002. The club used opportunities presented by the artist reception, the event booklet signing party, and the auction to tell people about Quota and extend invitations to join the club. Hear Ye worked hard for the club and also fetched a nice price for event organizers when he was sold to the wife of a local lawyer. He now stands guard over the attorney's office in downtown Racine. Cops
n Kiddy Cat
"Our cat is handing out bookslike the Racine cops do in the Cops 'n' Kids program," explains Sister Janet, who painted the model. The final touch was a cop hat, designed by Sister Janet's real-life sister, Mary Ann Weyker, who must have enjoyed the companyshe was initiated on February 9 as a new member of QI of Kenosha-Racine! "Our cat, Cop 'n' Kiddies, was 'purr-fectly' content to spend the summer in the window of the Racine Art Museum looking at folks who strolled by," says Sister Janet. "She received an Honorable Mention in the judging and, like Hear Ye, became a great way to draw attention to Quota and our service projects." At auction in October, Cops 'n' Kiddies brought in $550 for the city when someone from England purchased her and sent her abroad to live. · For a great story of Quota friendship in Kenosha-Racine, click here. · The Kenosha-Racine club won second place in the We Share Foundation's 2003 International Photo Contest.
