Bathurst Quota members created a three-pronged plan to celebrate Quota Cares Month in their community. Named "The Bathurst Triple," the project aimed to demonstrate the variety of community service efforts the club performs, encourage membership growth, and raise money for local projects through three high-profile projects:
The club provided an information booth with colorful displays about Quota during an International Women's Day Celebration planned by a local women's center. Association with the well-attended event increased club visibility and attracted significant local media attention. Soon after, the club cooked and served lunch for some 250 seniors during a community cabaret concert for Seniors Week. At the end of Quota Cares Month, 17 local brides were given the chance to re-wear their wedding gowns for a fashion show that attracted outstanding media coverage and community participation and raised more than Aus.$5,600 for club service. The plan also included a recruitment bonus: the club waived the normal Aus.$15 club initiation fee for all new members who joined during Quota Cares Month. At the end of March, five new members joined the club and another signed on the following month who had witnessed Quota service in action during the senior luncheon. The affirmation gained from the recruitment enthused existing members and, say leaders, strengthened the club. To read the club's winning application, click here.
