    Quota International of Ba, Fiji
Audiogram Project and Educational Support for HART

With the help of Quota International of Ba, hundreds of the HART village's most vulnerable residents are enjoying healthier, happier lives, and looking forward to brighter futures. Last year, Quotarians provided resources and services in the schools, hospitals, and senior citizens center of this poor community. One of the most popular was its Hearing Aid Project, which offered seniors and others in desperate need appointments with a doctor, hearing aids, and other types of assistance, all free of charge.

In addition to launching this independent project, the club collaborated with other local organizations to strengthen existing services and programs in a variety of crucial ways. Highlights of the year included a Christmas party at the HART Home, where all residents received small gifts, and painting a ward at the Ba Mission Hospital. In addition to these one-time events, both facilities were given supplies on a regular basis to meet their residents' basic needs. In addition, residents of the Senior Citizens Center-the only facility of its kind in all of Fiji-received a computer printer from the club, as well as funds for lunch and refreshments during a well-deserved Senior Citizens Celebration Week. Residents of all ages were included in the scope of Quotarians' work, though, as hundreds of children also benefited from the club's generosity: the Ba School for Special Education turned to the club for much-needed supplies throughout the course of the year, and many children were given school and transportation fees so they could continue their studies. The club's work is having an impact, as there has been a noticeable decline in juvenile delinquency and school dropouts.
