Diagnostic
Center at the Quota Home for Abandoned and Destitute Women

History of the Quota Home
Founded as a shelter for battered women and their children
in 1978, Quota International of New Delhi's Quota Home has expanded to
house a home for elderly women, a job training and literacy program, and
an elementary school in addition to the shelter. In 2004, the club added
a medical clinic that held cancer screenings and eye clinics for the impoverished
families in the surrounding community.

Expanding
Medical Services
During 2007 through 2009, the club seeks to enhance the clinic's services,
which are extended to children whose homes are unsanitary, drinking water
unclean, and medical facilities inadequate. With Club-to-Club donations,
New Delhi Quotarians will establish a diagnostic center that provides
complete health care to the women and children in the Quota Home. This
coverage includes anemia and worm infestation prevention, periodical medical
checkups, and testing for hearing and speech impairment. The center will
also educate Quota Home residents on cleanliness and preventative care.

Through the Club-to-Club program, the Quota Home's services have improved
the lives of hundreds of residents; with continued support, the diagnostic
center will meet with the same success. With donations, New Delhi Quotarians
will purchase medicines, reagents, lab equipment, blood analyzers, microscopes,
and other equipment, as well as help fund staff salaries for the new center.
