Quota Home for Abandoned and Destitute Women

The Quota Home in Faridabad has been a Club-to-Club project since 1983, changing the lives of impoverished women and children through education and job training. Quota's support helped this project grow exponentially in recent years, creating the need for a larger facility.

The project offers literacy and job skills training for women. Training for India's clothing industry includes sewing, tailoring, knitting, textile design, and embroidery. Training for other jobs includes typing, hair styling, cosmetology, nail care, and henna painting.

The project also offers a full primary school for children. But steady growth in both programs has caused extremely cramped quarters in one building. So, the New Delhi club is building a new primary school on an adjacent lot, allowing the original structure to house women's classes.

"Construction of a building is a big project," says past Quota club president Chander Aurora. "Our space to accommodate these women and their children is limited. We need a lot of expansion to shelter the needy with care. Love is our priority, and we love them."

Club-to-Club donations will provide maintenance and repair of the existing structure, plus computers, sewing machines, supplies, food, and some expenses for teachers.
