Quota Cares Month—Honorable Mention Winner
Quota International of Goulburn

When the Quotarians of Goulburn get involved in a project, they bring with them their zest for life. An advertisement spotted in the local paper by a Quota club member several years ago led the entire Quota club membership to become involved in the "Relay for Life," a community fund-raising event to defeat cancer. This affair has become a catalyst for promoting the good works of the Goulburn club. The members have helped in every way: they have sold raffle tickets, catered meals, participated in the walk, and even taken on administrative jobs for the "Relay" committee.

As a result of this participation, the name Quota has come to stand for more than just a service organization. Instead the Quota club has emerged as a model for the way organizations should work. Volunteers for the "Relay for Life" have shown genuine interest in how well the club functions as well as the good works the club performs. The name Quota has also become synonymous for enthusiasm. As people asked for information about the club, more often than not, there would be remarks about what fun Quotarians had and how well they worked together.

Over the years, this Quota "publicity" has attracted a number of interested persons at club events. Now, each year as the Quotarians of Goulburn participate in the "Relay For Life," they are a vital presence in the community, showing their zest for life.
