In the midst of some rather dire conditions in Bahay Mapagmahal, the Loving Home for the physically handicapped children and youth in Quezon City, there are sounds of hope. In this temporary shelter there is a small orchestra or Rondalla on Wheels where the children have an outlet for their musical talents. They are able to learn the discipline of playing a musical instrument and share their talents.

When the Quota club members of Manila first visited the center, they noticed that the sleeping conditions for the children were poor. The obvious need was to replace worn out beds, sheets, and mattresses. Seeing the plight of Loving Home the Quotarians decided to choose them as the beneficiary of the club's fund-raising efforts.

To this end, the Quota club launched a campaign to raise money by distributing Quota Care Bears coin banks to all of the Manila club members. The Quotarians were encouraged to visit the Loving Home during the arranged Saturday visits with the children. Other money-raising events, such as a two-day garage sale and the distribution of gold dog coin banks to other Quota clubs and friends, brought in additional funds for this worthwhile project. The project culminated in a concert where the children were the featured performers.

Quota received recognition in the community for providing new beds and bed linens for the home. But the sounds of joy didn't stop there. They even had enough money to buy more musical instruments.
