Quota
Cares MonthTop Winner
The Kenosha Expo was the setting for several successful club projects for Quota International of Kenosha-Racine, Wisconsin. The club wanted to build strong public relations through their Cops 'n' Kids and "Say No to Drugs" programs. They also used their booth at the Expo to sell tickets to their 4th Annual Sock Hop. With over 20,000 people attending the Expo and over 200 service organizations participating, the Quotarians chose this venue in order to reach a maximum number of people. The busy club members distributed 1,200 books to children for the promotion of literacy. The Cops 'n' Kids reading program encourages children to pick up a book for enjoyment. This successful program fits hand and glove with the "Say No to Drugs" program. By providing healthy alternatives to children, it is their hope that children will have an easier time saying "no" to drugs. Quota's enthusiastic participation in the Expo was a way to spotlight their successful club programs. Not only did club members enjoy the opportunity to work together, but they had the chance to show the community the many ways that Quota serves.
The Kenosha-Racine members exceeded their objectives by
publicizing their service to the community. They have put books in the
hands of children. They have warned of the dangers of drug abuse. They
have attracted three new club members. If this isn't enough, they have
also won the hearts of many adults. Along with selling tickets to their
sock hop, they gave away ear plugs. Pretty clever PR move! That's one
good way to build strong public relations. To read or print the club's winning application, click here*.
