Quota
Cares MonthHonorable Mention Winner
A restaurant filled with swirling poodle skirts, letter jackets, and Elvis tunes Sound like the 1950s? Think again! The Quotarians of Kenosha gave the Brat Stop restaurant a whole new look when they held their Third Annual Sock Hop. The event, which benefited several Club service projects, including the Cops 'n' Kids Program, was open to the public, especially families.
Guests had a good time dancing, eating, and participating in a silent auction and 50/50 raffle. Along with a good time, their participation generated $4,700 in revenue and several boxes of new and gently used books. The project's success was made possible through 100 percent club participation. The few members unable to attend made contributions to the silent auction or provided financial donations. Advanced advertisingflyers and radio and newspaper adspublicized the rockin' affair. The advertising and hard work translated into a fun time for all and an opportunity for Quota to make the community aware of its service projects and recruit new members.
